Boy dies after being found at bottom of family pool

CHALMETTE - A 20-month-old boy drowned in a pool in his family's back yard
late last night, according to St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's deputies. 

A spokesman said the boy was reported missing from his home in the 3600
block of Palmisano Blvd. around 11 p.m. Thursday. 


Deputies who responded to the scene found him several minutes later at the
bottom of a murky pool in the backyard. 


The child was unresponsive and rushed to Tulane Medical Center where he was
pronounced dead around midnight.
