[StBernard] St. Bernard Parish to hold public hearing July 21

JY,

We're half home to the next Parish Council elections.  Let everyone in St.
Bernard parish make note which council members are in favor of this - and
remember it come 2011 when they come asking for you re-electon vote.
Needless to say, this is NOT what you elect councilmen to do.  Their top
priority should be making proposals to the voters of St. Bernard to
approve/disapprove by ballot, NOT "how do we convince the voters of St.
Bernard to give away their power to us"....as if "they" know what's best for
us better than we do.

Did they really think we weren't going to catch this?  Does anyone know
which member of the parish council proposed this measure?  I'll pay for some
"very special" ads in the local newspapers come 2011, conveniently during
re-election time - just to help everyone remember.

Thanks Brother John.  So they are wanting to give themselves permission to
raise taxes or millages w/out going to the voters for it correct?  And they
can only go to the max already established?  How nice for them!
