St. Marks, Father Lomax;

It's about time that some of the factual details surrounding the closure of
properties by the Catholic Church have been explained.
It's unfortunate that more of the actual details have not been provided to
the public such as this letter in today's paper. Maybe if this would have
happened there wouldn't be so much negativity towards the Archbishop.

In a conversation just yesterday comments came out about the closure of
Hannan and the Manor and how the Church abandoned St. Bernard.

Just after the storm vandals destroyed the entire 2nd floor of Hannan,
throwing good computers out of the windows, throwing paint all over. Same
at the Manor. Vandals ripped out all the copper wiring, other marketable
raw materials etc.

There appeared to be more than just school occupancy that was a determining
factor not to rebuild the school.

Like Fr. Lomax stated, St. Marks didn't have flood insurance and a lot of
the properties owned by the Catholic Archdiocese lacked a lot of insurance.
For years the churches didn't do termite protection either.

Thanks to Father Lomax for setting some of this straight.
