Richard,
The email is a hoax..but then again maybe it's not? Let me explain.
I find the so called "corporate policy" of Starbucks to be one, big cop out!
There are hundreds of companies across our land who are dirctly contributing
to the military and its personnel - not asking their low wage employees to
do it - and these same companies are doing it in contrary to what their
company policies had previous stated. After all, what company actually
thinks about having to plan for contributions to the military/personnel in
case there might be war?
Starbucks is using corporate jargon to avoid coughing up the bucks - or
coffee - because they're too damned cheap! So if you think about, the hoax
email might not have properly quoted Starbucks, but it sure as hell
correctly represented their position compared to all the other "generous"
companies in the U.S.
When the Starbucks corporate office received Sgt. Wright's request, all they
should have said was, "we are going to make an exception to our standard
corporate policy and donate coffee to our brave men and women serving in
Iraq
because this situation and their service is exceptional" - nothing else
needed be to be said.
So I support the continued boycott of Starbuck products.
John

I'll say it again. If the message asks you to pass it on to everyone you
know, it's a hoax.
