St. Bernard Fire Department to give batteries for "Change Your Clock" 

Residents can pick up batteries November 1 at local fire stations

 

To coincide with the time change on Sunday, November 1, St. Bernard Parish
Fire Department will give away batteries for smoke detectors. The batteries
will be given out at the following locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until
they run out: 

 

*               Fire Station # 1 at 1500 Aycock Street in Arabi

*               Fire Station # 3 at 9240 West Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette

 

Maintaining smoke alarms is the most effective way to reduce home fire
deaths. Smoke alarms give people the warning they need to get out safely.
Changing smoke alarm batteries at least twice a year is one of the simplest,
most effective ways to reduce tragic deaths and injuries.
