TOURISM STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOPS

First one to be held Thursday, March 11th



The St. Bernard Parish Tourist Commission in conjunction with the University
of New Orleans will be conducting a series of Tourism Strategic Planning
Workshops. These workshops will be conducted at several locations in St.
Bernard Parish to make it convenient to get input from the public,
businesses and tourism stakeholders. The objectives of these workshops are:



1) To provide citizens and stakeholders with information as to the impact of
the Tourism Industry in St. Bernard Parish;



2) To gather information from St. Bernard residents, businesses and
government officials regarding their perceptions of tourism development;



3) To help create a tourism attraction inventory for St. Bernard Parish
including existing attractions/events and potential attractions/events;



4) To seek support for and participation in the Strategic Tourism Planning
Process.



The series of workshops will begin on Thursday, March 11th , 2010 at the
Council on Aging Building, 8201-A West Judge Perez Drive from 7-8 p.m.;
Thursday, April 8th at Charlie's Diner, 6129 E. St. Bernard Highway, Violet,
LA from 2 - 4 p.m. and Thursday, May 6th at Nunez Community College, 3710
Paris Road, Room 114 from 6 - 8 p.m.
