UPDATE

Sp# 046-31-0053 Judge Seeber "Draw Bridge Rehabilitation"

Route: LA 39 Parish: Orleans

Contractor: Boh Bros Construction

Project Engineer: John Guidry (contact info below)

Vehicular and first of two (5 day) marine traffic closures will begin 12:01
am on March 15th.

DOTD suggests using LA 47/I-510 to I-10 if more convenient, other detour
routes are LA 46 (St. Claude) & Florida Ave. Ending dates are not secured.
Updates will be sent out as they become available

Vehicular Closure:

There will be a total closure (24/7) of the bridge from March 15th - May
13th.

The beginning date may vary by a day or two since we are co-coordinating
with U.S.C.G. and marine traffic. Closure updates will be sent out as mid
March approaches (this will include beginning and ending hours).

Work Being Performed:

The work will consist of changing of wire ropes, electrical rehabilitation,
mechanical rehabilitation, Deck replacement and structural repairs.

Possible Detours:

La 47(Paris road to I-510 / I-10)

LA 46 St Claude Ave. "draw" Bridge (official detour to which traffic will be
diverted)

Florida Ave. "draw" Bridge (parish route, local traffic only)

NOTE: The St. Claude Ave. and Florida Ave. bridges are draw bridges and are
required to open for marine traffic. These bridges are owned and operated by
the Port of New Orleans.

Marine Closure:

There will be two 5 day closures between March 15 and April 2.

To further explain:

There will be one 5 consecutive day (24hr) closure beginning on the March
15. (This date may vary by a day or so depending on the U.S.C.G.'s
evaluation of shipping schedules. Updates will be sent out as mid March
approaches)

Following the first 5 day closure, a 2 - 7 day window will be allowed to
clear congested marine traffic and to allow the flexibility to line up with
shipping schedules, as to cause the least amount of disruption to marine
traffic. The U.S.C.G. will determine the appropriate length of this window.
Again updates will be sent out as mid March approaches.

The second 5 consecutive day closure will begin immediately following the
2-7 day window mentioned above.

Work Being Performed:

The work will consist of changing of wire ropes.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution
through the construction/maintenance site and be on the lookout for work
crews and their equipment.
