Workshops in the Council Chambers free to small businesses

 

Shaw will hold a St. Bernard Parish Small Business Workshop Monday, April 5,
2010 from 2-4 p.m. or 6-8 p.m. The workshop will be in the St. Bernard
Council Chambers, 8201 W. Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette.

 

Small businesses can attend this free 2-hour workshop to learn how to
position your small company to become a Shaw approved supplier/subcontractor
on federal government projects in the area. This workshop, conducted by
Shaw's Environmental & Infrastructure Group, is designed to help small
businesses understand how their companies can subcontract on federal
government opportunities, and learn the basics of risk management,
insurance, and bonding. Shaw will also discuss current subcontracting
opportunities and guide attendees through the process of becoming an
approved supplier/subcontractor. Two identical sessions (at 2 p.m. or 6
p.m.) are scheduled for small businesses interested in working with Shaw's
Environmental & Infrastructure Group.
