What a bunch of bullshit. Just goes to prove if you put the right kind of
spin of crap you can at least appear to make it smell like a rose.

Dear Friends,

What a busy several weeks it has been. Just days ago, President
Obama signed into law common-sense, market-based health care reform that
will provide nearly every American access to quality and affordable health
care. On the horizon, we have legislation aimed at helping small businesses
create jobs, and aimed at preventing future recessions like the one from
which we are now emerging. Read below to learn more about the health care
bill we just passed, and about my efforts to strengthen and improve it for
Louisianians.

Senate Passes Historic Health Care Bill

This week, President Obama signed into law an historic overhaul of America's
troubled health care system. Those with insurance will no longer have to
worry about being dropped from their coverage, and those without will have
expanded access thanks to tax credits and the elimination of "pre-existing
conditions."

In all, nearly 900,000 uninsured Louisianians will have access to affordable
coverage, and a half million seniors in the state will see their Medicare
premiums fall, while having free access to preventative care. Despite the
heated rhetoric, this bill is a major win for Louisiana

Sen. Landrieu's 10 Wins For Louisiana

Throughout this debate, Sen. Landrieu has worked tirelessly on behalf of
Louisiana. Whether it's provisions to aid small businesses, correcting the
injustice of the federal government's flawed Medicaid formula, or advocating
for Louisiana's orphans and foster kids, Sen. Landrieu has shaped and
strengthened this bill to make it better for Louisianians.

Newsweek Defends Sen. Landrieu's FMAP Fix

00056049.5655.264&gen=1&mailing_linkid=8505> The health care bill signed
into law by President Obama contains in it a provision that will correct a
flawed Medicaid formula, which could have cost Louisiana more than $400
million. Though critics have derided the fix as the new "Louisiana
Purchase," Sen. Landrieu was proud to support the provision, which was
requested by Governor Jindal and supported by the entire Louisiana
congressional delegation.

Nearly every newspaper in Louisiana has supported Sen. Landrieu's efforts.
This week, Newsweek joins them, publishing an article entitled: "Why the
'Louisiana Purchase' Isn't a Dirty Backroom Deal." According to the article,
"Landrieu's deal is not an example of corrupt backroom dealing. It's an
example of a member of Congress advocating for her constituents, which after
all is her job."

Sen. Landrieu Hits Back At McCain's Distortions

On Tuesday, Sen. Landrieu took to the Senate floor to respond to yet another
misleading and disingenuous attack on the Louisiana FMAP fix by Sen. John
McCain. Sen. McCain has continually mischaracterized the fix despite
repeated corrections following his previous erroneous floor statements. To
