contact William McCarthney SBPG wmccartney at sbpg.net, (he probably
receives this listserve)

there is a similar situation noted below, with the contractors on the ADA
Sidewalk Project. A resident received some help from Mr Ray Lauga, even
though its not Mr Lauga's project.

these arrogant contractors are not respecting our community. none of this
should be occurring, but if it is, they should only have to be told once.
the workers even have the gull to just leave their litter and trash after
lunch breaks. in my opinion, all the more reason not to have transient
workers. its just a shame, so many of our young adults looking for job
training and a future and these transient workers literally trashing our
community. (--SJK)

note from another resident:

I have been complaining for over a month about the hydraulic fluid leaking
on the streets from the contractors equipment. Also the method of picking up
the broken concrete by stacking it in the street then scooping it up and
loading it into dump truck. It scars the blacktop up. Broken and no pads on
backhoes. More scarring. What was once a nice looking street is not anymore.
Where is the logic. Make the sidewalks look better but the street worse. I
have spoken to just about every contractor employee, filed complaints at the
complex and public works. ------ with public works to investigate. All
that has gotten was the same response, "that type of equipment always
leaks". As far as I am concerned that is a inappropriate answer coming from
a parish employee. My impression of -------- is that of a person who thinks
he is still running a construction business. His biggest concern is to get
the work completed as fast as possible. It should not be his position. I was
misdirected to Mr. Lauga when I just found out the person to contact would
be Logan Martin. I am very impressed by Ray's willingness to address my
concerns. Perhaps you could get in touch with him on this matter. Just to
let you know I did contact Hazmat and filed a complaint. The looks of this
parish should be improving daily and not continue to go backwards because of
irresponsible contractors and their employees. Also, no matter how many
times you complain about the litter they leave, they just continue to do it.
Uncalled for.
