Richard,

I am always quick to admit if I'm wrong. If I misinterpreted your intention
and message - my apologies.

Then, like you, we agree that this country was built upon the belief that
all should be allowed to believe and live life the way one wishes and
chooses...the key word there being "choose." Richard, the problem is the
freedom and liberties in this country that have allowed the socialist and
communist to freely move about and flourish. While that in itself is not my
complaint, my complaint is they are using (or abusing) the freedoms given to
them (by our founders) to try and take away "MY" freedrom and free choice.

I guess another way of putting is "liberal progressives don't want to play
on an even playing field." They want to play the existing rules while in
the effort to gain power, but once they have power, they want to change the
rules (i.e. "change we can believe in..the fundamental transition of
America"). To that I say "no way!" So when I made the comment "I'll be
glad to end it" I'm speaking in the same tone and with the same sense of
responsibility of our founding fathers. Just look around and everyday on
the news you can see how the liberal socialists are trying to provoke a
situation where, like our founders, we who adhere to the founding principle
on which this nation was built will likey have to take action. Sure,
through the power of the vote will be the first course of action, but what
the liberals continue to do after that will determine what follows by those
of us who want to preserve the country created by the founders. And to that
extent I say "that is what Glenn Beck is trying to say - that if you believe
in what Jefferson, Adams, Washington and Madison believed, then we must all
get up and take action - because the liberals sure as hell aren't sitting on
their butts.

There is a letter John Adams wrote to Thomas Jefferson where Adams inquires
if what they started in this country can last. Jefferson replied "there was
no way it could." But Jefferson added that perhaps the one good thing that
would result from us having our freedom and liberties taken by the
government is it could rekindle the same fire in those future Americans
(i.e. us) that first burned in our founders.

As I've stated, I have heard nothing Glenn Beck has said that I find to be
factually incorrect nor offensive. After all, how can re-educating us about
what our founders believed be a bad thing?

Thanks,
John

John, I'm not sure where you derived the notion that I said Beck was against
Jesus; nothing in my post referred to that at all. The post I responded to
advocated discriminating against American citizens based on their religion,
and that we should watch Glen Beck in order to learn the truth.
On the other hand, the phrase "I'll be glad to end it" implies that you're
advocating a country where you have the ability to force people to your line
of thinking. Again, I'll pass. The America I grew up in was one where people
have the freedom to worship and think how they choose without fear of
reprisal.
If you believe Glen Beck is concerned about anything other than the size of
his paycheck, I'd say you are mistaken. Beck isn't a savior preaching truth;
he's a charlatan selling whatever snake oil people are willing to buy. But
hey, the fact that we live in the United States means we have the right to
speak our minds (at least for now).
Richard
