Judge Seeber Bridge update

The Judge Seeber Bridge on LA 39, which has reopened, will have a total closure to vehicular traffic on Monday, June 7, 2010 thru Friday, June 11, 2010 AND Monday, June 14th thru Wednesday, June 16th from 9:00 pm – 6:00 am each night for Bridge Rehabilitation work. No weekend work.

In an effort to limit the potential traffic issues to the travelling public, DOTD is limiting these necessary closures to late night and early morning before and after peak traffic hours. Additionally, construction crews will remain in contact with emergency personnel and can open the bridge quickly should emergency vehicles need to access the other side of the canal. The purpose of these closures is to adjust and install the span locks which are the wedges that keep the bridge in alignment and address any problems that develop during the testing phase. Many of these test and adjustments are in anticipation of hurricane season to ensure the bridge is secure against potential high winds.

Detour St. Claude LA 46.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction/maintenance site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
