U.S. House subcommittee to conduct oil spill hearing in Chalmette Monday

The U.S. House of Represenatives' Subcommittee on Oversight and
Investigations will gather in Chalmette Monday for a field hearing.

The event, entitled "Local Impact of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill" will
examine the impact of the oil spill at the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig
site on the Gulf region. The hearing begins at 10 a.m. at the St. Bernard
Parish Council meeting chambers, 8201 W.Judge Perez Drive.

Witnesses scheduled to testify include Natalie Roshto of Liberty, Miss.;
Courtney Kemo of Jonesville; Acy Cooper, vice president of the Louisiana
Shrimp Association; Moby Solangi, Ph.D., president and executive director of
the Institute of Marine Mammal Services; Kelby Linn, owner of ACP Real
Estate, Inc., and vice president of the Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce;
Clarence Duplessis of Braithwaite; and Wilma Subra, president of the Subra
Company.
