St. Bernard Recreation Department is accepting registration for Adult
Leagues

 Registration deadline for first adult leagues organized by parish since
Katrina is October 8

 

St. Bernard Parish Recreation Department is accepting registration through
October 8, 2010 for Adult Leagues.  Leagues will begin the week of October
17, 2010 and will consist of men's and women's flag football, men's
slowpitch softball, beach volleyball, co-ed slowpitch softball, and co-ed
cabbage ball.  

                                        

Registration is $350 per team, and no registration will be taken once the
schedules have been completed. Registration must be done in the Recreation
Department Office, located on the second floor of the St. Bernard Government
Complex at 8201 W. Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette. The office is open
Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to accept registrations.



"As the youth programs for recreation continue to grow, offering adult
recreation leagues improves our quality of life for our community as a
whole," Parish President Craig P. Taffaro, Jr. said. Historically, St.
Bernard has had a rich tradition of offering numerous adult leagues. The
current Recreation Department is resurrecting this practice while expanding
the variety of leagues offered.

 

Games will be played as follows:

*	Sundays: Flag football 
*	Tuesdays: Co-Ed Softball 
*	Wednesdays: Beach Volleyball 
*	Thursdays: Men's Softball 
*	Fridays: Co-Ed Cabbage ball
