Baskin Robbins in Chalmette holds grand opening with music and an ice cream
cake party: A large crowd gathered to celebrate the event including several
officials who came to congratulate the owners William and Tiki McIntyre.
Col. David Dysart, St. Bernard Parish Chief Administrative Officer,
presented the owners with a proclamation from President Craig Taffaro. From
left in the center of the photograph: St. Bernard Parish Councilman Ray
Lauga, wearing the cream-colored shirt with his daughter Brenna Lauga, Owner
Tiki Ryan McIntyre holding her daughter Ryan, Col. David Dysart, his
daughter and wife, Elyse and Nicole Dysart, Owner William McIntyre and
Council Chairman Wayne J. Landry. William McIntyre's daughter Hannah cut the
ribbon. Tiki's sister, Colleen Ryan Thomas, and a large group of Ryan
cousins were also in for the celebration as well as the Briede family. Also
in attendance was Mrs. Debbie Gaudet, the Deca Coordinator at Chalmette
High. A check was presented by the McIntyres to Mrs. Jessica Janneck of the
Chalmette High School's Interact Club for an upcoming literacy project.
Jazz music was provided by members of The Last Straws, including Bob
McIntyre, making this a real family affair. The store is located at 1515 E.
