NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Four public meetings are scheduled across coastal
Louisiana next week to discuss damage the BP oil spill did to the
environment and natural resources.

The meetings are part of the natural resource damage assessment process for
the spill. A damage assessment is a lengthy legal process that determines
the type and amount of restoration to be done to make up for damage from an
oil spill.

The meetings will be held at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux on
Monday; at the Jefferson Council Chambers in Harahan on Tuesday; at the
Iberia Parish Library in New Iberia on Wednesday; and at the St. Bernard
Council Chambers in Chalmette on Thursday.
