St. Bernard Chamber holds 4th annual Shop St. Bernard Event on Thursday,
November 18

Save retail receipts from Nov. 18 to Dec. 18 for President Craig Taffaro’s
Christmas Cash Back program

 

The St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce is again sponsoring its annual SHOP ST.
BERNARD event on Thursday, November 18 from 2 to 7 p.m., with an expanded
offering that includes 12 local stores.  For the event, shoppers who go to
each participating store and get their cards marked for visiting will be
eligible for grand prizes at the after-event party. 

 

The event after party with giveaways in the St. Bernard Government Complex
Lobby at 7 p.m. is sponsored by the St. Bernard Tourism Committee. Prizes
and incentives including items or gifts cards from all the participating
vendors and a $500 gift certificate to the Ritz Carlton donated by Richie
Clements will be given away as an incentive to encourage people to visit all
stores. 

 

This year’s participating stores are: All About Me, Art & Frame, Balli
Gallery, Hair Den, Todd's Technology, Ponstein's Food Store, The Ladybug's
Garden, Flooring Showcase Rugs & Interior, Salon Julee, Touche Café,
Equilibria Spa and Lipstick & Lingerie. 


 

St. Bernard Parish President Craig P. Taffaro, Jr. is again using this event
as the kick-off date for his annual CHRISTMAS CASH BACK program to reward
St. Bernard residents for doing their Christmas shopping with local vendors.
In the program that President Taffaro implemented in 2008, residents who
save their retail receipts spent at local stores could win cash as a thank
you for residents doing their holiday shopping in St. Bernard. Taffaro will
hold this year's CASH BACK event on Dec. 18 from 8 to 11 a.m. in the Sigur
St. Bernard Civic Center at 8245 W. Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette.
Residents must bring store receipts from any St. Bernard store showing
holiday spending from Nov. 18 to Dec. 18. For every $100 in receipts from
local vendors in that time period, residents will be given a ticket to make
them eligible for multiple cash drawings that will be held at 11 a.m. This
year, those who shop at the vendors participating in the Shop St. Bernard
event will get two tickets for every $100 spent for the entire time period
of Nov. 18 through Dec. 18.
