Three people have been booked in one of the biggest heroin seizures ever in
St. Bernard Parish, authorities said.

Three ounces of heroin, which the Sheriff's Office said is worth as much as
$50,000 on the street, was seized, authorities said.

Kendell Collins, 30, 321 E. Magnolia St., Chalmette, Courtney Barton, 26,
who lived with him, and Kendell Collins' brother, Brent Collins, 21, of New
Orleans, were each booked with possession of heroin with intent to
distribute and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Brent
Collins was also booked with possession of marijuana.

The Sheriff's Office said Brent Collins and Barton were arrested Nov. 14
when deputies searched the house on Magnolia Street. Kendell Collins was
arrested in Chalmette on Tuesday.

The Sheriff's Office said an investigation concluded that Kendell Collins
had been dealing drugs in other parishes. The heroin, three grams of cocaine
and a small amount of marijuana were found at the Magnolia Street home,
authorities said.

Bond for Kendell Collins was set Wednesday at $150,000. He remained in St.
Bernard Parish Prison.

Barton has been released on $60,000 bond; Brent Collins has been released on
$75,000 bond, authorities said.
