Pearl Harbor Memorial Ceremony in Chalmette to be held Tuesday, December 7

 

The Pearl Harbor Survivors Association will hold the annual Pearl Harbor
Memorial Ceremony on Tuesday, December 7 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Pearl
Harbor Park in Chalmette.  The event will mark the 69th anniversary of the
Bombing of Pearl Harbor. It will include the U.S. Navy Band and the Color
Guard with speeches and a wreath-laying. Additionally, the 20-foot by
30-foot American Flag that flies over the park will be replaced this year
through the generosity of Chalmette Refining LLC. The park that sits next to
Paris Road near Bayou Bienvenue is the only park in the continental United
States dedicated to Pearl Harbor. For more information, call Shirley
