Woman killed by hit-and-run driver in St. Bernard Parish

A 57-year-old pedestrian was killed Thursday night by a hit-and-run driver
in Chalmette, according to preliminary reports.


The fatality occurred at the intersection of East St. Bernard Highway and
Ventura Drive shortly before 5:46 p.m, according to the Louisiana State
Police.

The location is not far from the Murphy Oil Refinery, according to the St.
Bernard Sheriff's Office.

The incident is being investigated by the Louisiana State Police, Troop B.
