I bought a GREAT bedroom set made right here in New Orleans:

It's made of mahogony so the wood is *not* North American but it never has
been.
However I can say one thing:  That stuff is so damned heavy and solidly
constructed I expect
to be able to leave it to someone in my will because I'll die before that
stuff breaks apart.
