[StBernard] Housing tussle in St. Bernard continues

Now, now SJK...let's be politically correct. They are supposed to be
"mixed-income" apartments (not homes). The only hospital employees I can
imagine living there who are not *low-income* are possibly some nurses who
work the 4/10 shifts and maybe
pool together to rent a place. I simply cannot imagine full-income
(whatever that is) people wanting to live with others who are getting
federal subsidies to live in the same facility. I think if I were a renter
wanting to live in an apt complex I'd want to live someplace, like perhaps
the Northshore, Mandeville or someplace like that.

within walking distance of the Provident development, which
means
that the
new homes would be suitable for the facility's staff.


I dont know, maybe its just me, but I would hope the jobs at
the
hospital are not low-income jobs. --
