>Have a salary cap

They do have a salary cap, it's a team cap where the team is limited on
total spending for salaries.

Also, the owners were proposing a limit on how much they can offer rookies
into the league. Smart move on the owners' part when you consider some of
the duds that have been drafted. Jamarcus Russell anyone?

Actually I don't have any issues with the players being able to get
everything they can. It's the market place and they are merely offering
their services and abilities to the highest payer. Most players don't have
a long career playing football and they do put their bodies through a lot of
physical abuse for playing the "game".

Researchers can continue to make progress in studying what a lifetime of
hits to the head - each around 20 g's of force, on average - can do to elite
football players, often revered in their playing days yet forgotten upon
retirement, when the lasting neurological effects finally start to show
their presence.

I'd hate to have a job where the *job* can lead to permanent brain damage.

Of course, just my opinion.
