Pohlmann Launching Campaign For St. Bernard Sheriff

28-Year Veteran Hopes To Succeed Stephens

CHALMETTE, La. -- The campaign for St. Bernard Sheriff is getting an early
start with the announcement that the department's second-in-command will
seek the office.
Chief Deputy Jimmy Pohlmann will formally announce his candidacy on
Wednesday.
The 28-year veteran is hoping to succeed his current boss, Sheriff Jack
Stephens, who has held the post since 1984. Stephens announced his
retirement earlier this year.
Though Wednesday marks the official start of his campaign, Pohlmann has
already begun distributing campaign signs throughout the community.
