St. Bernard Business and Professional Women's Club to meet August 15

St. Bernard Recreation Program Manager Jeff Sanchez to speak

 

The St. Bernard Business and Professional Women's Club will meet on Monday,
August 15, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the Council on Aging Building.  Jeff Sanchez,
the new Program Director for the St. Bernard Recreation Department, will be
the guest speaker.  Mr. Sanchez is a native of St. Bernard and former
student of Hannan High School.  He attended Tulane University and played
professional football in the NFL, European League, Arena Football, and the
Canadian League.  He will be discussing how sports positively influenced his
life, and how involvement in the recreation department can change and
motivate young people.   Mr. Sanchez will also give a brief overview of the
programs, and what he hopes to accomplish with the recreation department.
He has already started a drive to collect used cleats which will be handed
down to those children who may need them.  The meeting is open to the
public.  Donations will be accepted at the meeting.
