[StBernard] St. Bernard Parish celebrates repairs at Corinne Canal Crossing at the 20-Arpent Canal

At first glance, I can see how this looks like a photo-op.  However, I know
how long Corinne Estates and other community members waited for this repair.
It was more complicated than one might imagine.  Also, the Celebrate St
Bernard Foundation encourages residents to stop and celebrate each step
along the way.  It's been a short six years.  It's been  a long six years.
We've still got a long way to go.  You can burn bridges or you can cross
them together.  I'm in for the long haul.  Hope you join us, No Matter Who
Is Elected To What.

Big deal, a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of a small, canal
crossing bridge, paid for by federal tax dollars, and something that should
have done long ago anyway.  So why the big deal to have a ribbon cutting for
"this"?  Oh, stupid me, it's election time and a free photo op.
