that party so completely signified in our state for decades. Republicans run
Louisiana because over time, and particularly after Katrina laid bare the
effects for everyone to see, the electorate became violently fed up with the
banana-republic character of Louisiana politics as practiced by the party of
Edwin Edwards, the Longs and Dollar Bill Jefferson.
