St. Bernard Pastor's Coalition To Sponsor "Meet The Candidates" Event

Faith And Values Questions To Dominate Forum

How do you decide which political candidate to vote for? Do you vote for the
same political party as usual? Do you go over a candidate's record and
positions? Even if you do basic research, when was the last time you saw
much or any information about a candidate's religious affiliation, or their
views on matters pertaining to religion, values and faith. Such information
is rare, but not this year, and not in St. Bernard parish.

The St. Bernard Pastor's Coalition, a collective group of nearly thirty
evangelical churches in St. Bernard parish will sponsor a special "Meet The
Candidates" forum on October 1, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. The event, which will be
held in the facilities of First Baptist Church, Chalmette, 305 E. St.
Bernard Hwy, in Chalmette, will focus on two local political elections, that
of Parish President and that of Sheriff.

A special "Where Ya At" Card will also be distributed on the night of the
forum, containing answers to a number of faith and values questions posed to
the candidates prior to the event.

Invitations have been extended to the four candidates who have qualified for
the office of Parish President and to the four candidates who have qualified
for the office of Sheriff. The St. Bernard Parish Pastor's Coalition does
not and will not endorse any candidate for any office or in any election.
