The sound of a bottle being uncorked, the savory aroma of perfectly cooked
steak, and the sweet taste of homemade bread pudding. No, you're not at an
elegant restaurant, but you could be at Nunez Community College's annual
gala where local fare gets that parish flare.

The gala, set for Saturday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the first-floor
classrooms of the college's newly renovated arts, sciences and technology
building in Chalmette, will not only feature the college, but also savory
cuisine from both St. Bernard Parish and New Orleans.

Some of the restaurants that will be providing their most succulent
selections include: Restaurant August, Luk', Riverbend Bistro, Today's
Ketch, Tommy's Cuisine, Mr. John's Steakhouse, The Palace Caf, Impastato's,
the Hilton Riverside Hotel, and Not Just Cakes Bakery.

"This year's gala is shaping up to be one of the best yet," said Nunez
Chancellor Tommy Warner.

The refined evening will begin with guests enjoying delicious tastings under
the large tent that will be outside the arts, sciences and technology
building. Feasting will continue inside the new building along with hopping
live music, silent auctions, door prizes and, most importantly a full bar.

Guests can justify every scrumptious nibble by knowing that all their
enjoyment goes to support Nunez. All proceeds benefit the college through
the Nunez Community College Foundation, an advisory board that finances many
activities that benefit the community, such as covering production costs in
the drama department, providing scholarships for local students and
defraying expenses for the college's highly successful history lecture
series.

Keep in mind that all of this fancy entertainment is due to generosity.
Nunez Community College would like to thank the following sponsors for the
Gala's success: Platinum Level, Harold, Anderson, Inc.; Silver Level,
