FUEL hosts Middle School Dodge Ball Tournament

St. Bernard's Youth Activities Program brings students together

Fuel, the youth activities program from St. Bernard Parish President Craig
Taffaro's office, will host a Dodge Ball tournament Friday, October 21 from
6 to 9 p.m. The event will be for sixth to eighth grade students and is a
free event. Boys and girls from all schools are welcomed to participate.
Teams will be comprised of six students and will compete in a double
elimination tournament at the Fuel Youth Center at 210 E. Moreau St. in
Chalmette. The Youth Center is located behind the School Board Building.

Team registration and practice will be from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The tournament
will begin immediately after registration at 6:30 p.m. and will last until 9
p.m. The Grand Prize for the winning team will be a private party at the
Fuel Center for the team and their friends. Concessions will be sold at the
event.

With many students from the reigning champions now in high school, FUEL is
looking for new dodge ball teams to come out and be the new champion. Come
join us and see if your team has what it takes!

The Fuel Youth Center is currently open after school for 6th to 8th grade
students from 3 to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Students can
come play basketball, dodgeball, video games, work on the computers or just
hang out with their friends. The gym is also open on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 2:30 to 5 p.m. for high school open gym basketball. Adult supervision
is always provided. For more information on the Fuel Youth Program and any
events, please call Abbey Flaherty, SBPG Youth Coordinator at 224-1653.
