A man was killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident Sunday afternoon in
Chalmette after flipping the foor-wheeler, according to the St. Bernard
Parish Sheriff's Office. Kendrick Hills, 23, lost control of the vehicle
while riding on a street, spokesman Steve Cannizaro said.

About 3:20 p.m., Hills was riding a 2006 Honda 450 CRX in the 3600 block of
Pakenham Drive, near Nunez Community College. After the vehicle flipped onto
the street, it struck a stop sign and slid, Cannizaro said.

Hills was treated by emergency medical technicians after the crash, but was
pronounced dead at 4 p.m.

Hills was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Speed is
believed to be a factor in the crash, Cannizaro said. Cannizaro added that
it is illegal to drive all-terrain vehicles on the street.

An official cause of death has yet to be determined.
