Deputies arrest man and seek another in armed robbery

St. Bernard Parish, La. - St. Bernard deputies arrest a New Orleans man for
an armed robbery Tuesday and seek the identity of a second man they say
pulled the weapon.

According to St. Bernard Sheriff James Pohlmann, Timothy Peters and another
man stole a motorcycle from its owner at gunpoint while stopped at a red
light in Arabi.

Pohlmann said Peters admitted to pulling up next to a motorcycle in a
Chevrolet Camaro about 1:00 a.m. at a stop light on Claude Avenue. He said
the 27-year-old told investigators a male passenger, whose name he didn't
know, jumped out of the car with a gun and took the cycle after threatening
its owner.

Investigators say Peters denies being part of the robbery and said he didn't
know the man was going to rob the rider.

Detectives seek the name of that second man. They ask anyone with
information on his identity to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or the St.
Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office at 504-271-2501 and they could be eligible
for a reward if an arrest is made.

Peters has been booked with armed robbery and is being held in St. Bernard
Parish Prison on $200,000 bond.
