St. Bernard Seafood & Farmers Market Brings New Changes to Fall Schedule of
Events

The St. Bernard Seafood & Farmers Market will be closed on Saturday,
September 22nd and September 29th as vendors recover from Hurricane Isaac.
Several vendors experienced damages as a result of the storm, including
vegetable crop loss, greenhouse damages, and loss of infrastructure in the
seafood industry.

The Market will reopen on Saturday, October 6th with a 2012 Fall Wellness
Expo from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., which will feature a variety of free
activities, information, and giveaways, including Tai Chi, Yoga, Zumba,
kids' activities, healthy living and cooking, a steel drum band, and more!
Applications are now being accepted for booths, sponsorships, and
demonstrations - booths are available for gyms, doctors, massage therapists,
healthy living non-profits, or any other wellness-related services. Contact
Amanda or Sherry at 504-278-4242 for more information on how you can
participate in our inaugural Wellness Expo.

The Art & Wine Walk series has also been affected by the recent storm and
the September and October events will be combined into a single evening on
Thursday, October 11th in conjunction with the Old Arabi Sugar Fest Patron
Party. The October Art & Wine Walk will feature live entertainment, wine
sampling, and exhibits by local artists from 5pm until 9pm at the Aycock
Barn. Applications are being accepted for art and craft vendors to
participate in both the October and the November events.

Finally, the Market is looking for vendors with home produce, such as
citrus, vegetables, and herbs, to join the mix each Saturday. Booths are
available at a discounted rate for individuals looking to sell excess
fruits, vegetables, nuts, or fishermen with seafood. Any interested parties
should contact Amanda at 504-355-4442 for details.

The St. Bernard Seafood & Farmers Market is excited to bring new events to
the 2012 fall schedule. Starting in October, the Market will be open each
Saturday through mid-November from 8am until 1pm. Support local economy by
shopping for your vegetables, herbs, eggs, jams, seafood, and more at the
Aycock Barn, located at 409 Aycock Street in Historic Old Arabi. Follow the
market online at www.fb.com/StBMarket or contact the market by email at
market at sbpg.net for the latest information.
