CHILD SAFETY SEAT GIVEAWAY IN ST. BERNARD PARISH SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22,
2012

The Louisiana State Police, Interim LSU Public Hospital Level 1 Trauma
Center and the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force will host a child
safety seat event on Saturday, September 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon
in the Government Complex parking lot.  The St. Bernard Fire Department will
be on hand to assist.

Free seats will be given away to children who meet the height and weight
requirements:   

Child MUST weigh less than 65 pounds

Child and vehicle MUST be present

Louisiana law requires drivers to ensure that every child under the age of
13 be properly secured. State Police say motor vehicle crashes are the
leading cause of death for children.
