EXTENSION OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD DUE TO HURRICANE ISAAC

AND RESCHEDULING OF PUBLIC MEETING
ON A HAZARDOUS WASTE FINAL REMEDY SELECTION

Due to Hurricane Isaac, the comment period for the Hazardous Waste Final Remedy Selection for Chalmette Refining, LLC, Post Office Box 1007, Chalmette, LA 70044-1007, has been extended to 4:30 P.M., November 13, 2012.

LDEQ/OEC/USTRD and USEPA-R6 will conduct a public meeting to discuss the proposed Final Remedy Selection for Chalmette Refining LLC. The public meeting will be now held on Thursday, November 8, 2012, beginning at 7:00 p.m., CST at the St. Bernard Parish Council Chambers, 8201 West Judge Perez, in Chalmette, Louisiana. Individuals with a disability who need accommodation in order to participate in the public meeting should contact Laura Ambeau at (225) 219-3277.

The LDEQ, is accepting written comments on the Hazardous Waste Final Remedy Selection prepared for Chalmette Refining, LLC. The facility is located at 500 West St. Bernard Highway, Chalmette (St. Bernard Parish) Louisiana.
All correspondence should specify AI Number 1376, EPA ID Number LAD008179707 and Activity Number REM20000001.
Comments and requests for a public hearing or notification of the final decision can be submitted via personal delivery, U.S. mail, email, or fax. Delivery may be made to the drop-box at 602 N. 5th St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802. U.S. Mail may be sent to LDEQ, Public Participation Group, P.O. Box 4313, Baton Rouge, LA 70821-4313. Viewing hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (except holidays).
