[StBernard] Arc's Aktion Club Officers for 2013

The Aktion Club of Chalmette, a Kiwanis of St. Bernard-Arabi sponsored club,
met recently to elect officers for 2013. With an ever-growing membership,
Aktion Club has served lunch for the United Way's Day of Caring, crafted
Redfish Cup centerpieces for Tourism, collected books for Hurricane Isaac
victims, painted Santa's mailbox and provided a children's craft for
Christmas with Character in Torres Park, collected change for Kiwanis'
Eliminate Maternal & Neonatal Tetanus project, assisted at the Kiwanis
Annual Pancake Breakfast and encouraged the community to recycle beads and
newspapers. Participation in the club helps to strengthen values of
Character, Leadership, Inclusiveness, and Caring. Members enjoy community
speakers at noon on the first Wednesday of each month. Officers preside at
all meetings following an agenda, practicing Robert's Rules of Order, taking
minutes and voting on club issues. Arc of GNO serves as the sponsoring
agency.
