Oh say can you see...lots of folks having fun at the St. Bernard Parish
Library while learning the story of how the Star Spangled Banner came to be
our country's national anthem? Four score and two years ago this month
President Herbert Hoover signed a resolution creating our nation's official
song. But what sort of a journey did the music and lyrics take before this
momentous occasion?

Frank Levy will need lots of help from the audience as he brings this
historical tale to life during the library's Saturday Morning Family Fun
program scheduled for March 16th at 10:30 a.m. Library friends of all ages
will don costumes and provide sound effects as part of this free hour-long
program. History buffs and library friends of all ages are sure to enjoy
this original production.

The St. Bernard Parish Library is proud to be able to bring quality programs
such as The True Story of the Star Spangled Banner to the residents of the
parish as well as surrounding areas. Funding for this program is being
provided by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of
Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in
cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the St.
Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs.
