possible Noise at Chalmette Refining, LLC This Weekend/Week


 

As part of Chalmette Refining's maintenance and capital improvement of one
of our largest units, we want you to be aware of our work that will be
accompanied by some additional noise.  Residents living near the facility
can expect to hear the sound beginning Saturday, April 13 with the
possibility of continuing until Tuesday, April 16th.

 

So just what is that sound?

 

Steam at high pressure is an important part of our manufacturing process.
At various intervals you may hear the steam, charging the system, being
relieved through valves, giving off a loud whooshing sound.

 

We apologize and want you to know we are working to keep the inconvenience
to a minimum.

Please know these projects allow our facility to run efficiently and safely,
so we can produce the energy our country needs, share responsibility in the
local tax base, and contribute to make this community great.
