St. Bernard Parish authorities are searching for a missing Arabi woman who
suffers from dementia. Shirley Clouatre, 79, has been missing since Thursday
afternoon when she was last reported getting off a bus at St. Claude Avenue
in Arabi and asking how to get another bus into New Orleans.

Clouatre, who lives with family members on Benjamin Street, had been at the
Council on Aging center in Chalmette and boarded a St. Bernard public bus to
Arabi. She got off that bus around 3:05 p.m. in the 6900 block of St.
Claude, near the New Orleans line, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office
said.

A bus driver said she mentioned she may be heading to New Orleans and asked
for directions to board a bus that would take her into the city, which she
was given, the Sheriff's Office said

Clouatre, who is around 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs around 200 pounds,
was dressed in a dark blouse and dark pants.

Anyone who knows her whereabouts should call the St. Bernard Sheriff's
Office at 504.271.2501.
