What did the crowd say as the first flying reptile took off? If you want to
know the answer to this corny joke, you're going to have to come to the St.
Bernard Parish Library's third week of summer reading activities. 'Dinosaur
Dig' is the title of the story program slated for Tuesday, June 18th at 1
p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and again on Wednesday, June 19th at 11:30 a.m. Dinosaur
fans will enjoy Margie Palatini's dino tale Gorgonzola during this hour-long
program and will hear the fractured tale of 'The Three Little Dinosaurs and
the Big Bad Tyrannosaurus.

Summer fun continues throughout the week with a full schedule of activities.
Ms. Tamaria Hawkins, Growing Up Fit Together coordinator, will be serving up
a heaping plate of fun healthy facts during her free hour-long program set
for Thursday, June 20th at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to come hungry
for her Growing Up Fit Together youth program. To learn more about this
event, please visit www.growingupfit.org <http://www.growingupfit.org/>

Closing out the third week of summer fun will be a visit by Mr. Chuck Galey,
noted children's illustrator. Mr. Galey has illustrated such titles as Jazz
Cats, My Brother Dan's Delicious, SantaSaurus and Rock and Roll Dogs. He
has designed the covers for such series' as R.L. Stine's Fear Street and
Beverly Cleary's Ribsy and Henry Huggins. He will present his free
hour-long program on June 21st at 2:30 p.m. as part of the library's Fridays
with the Arts series. Participants will get a behind the scenes look at how
Mr. Galey illustrates children's books as he presents his 'Dig Deep Read'
program. Budding young artists and picture book lovers won't want to miss
this artistic opportunity to see this award-winning illustrator in action.

The library's Fridays with the Arts series is funded by a grant from
Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department
of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State
Arts Council as administered by the St. Tammany Commission on Cultural
Affairs.
