A Chalmette man wanted in connection with an alleged meth lab being run out
of his residence was arrested Thursday, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's
Office said. Dino Huy Jr., 26, 14 West Chalmette Circle, was found in
Chalmette by Narcotics Unit officers, authorities said.

He was booked with operating a meth lab, manufacturing meth, possession of
meth and child endangerment, the Sheriff's Office said. Huy is on probation
in St, Tammany Parish for possession of amphetamine, authorities said.

Huy's wife, Melissa Huy, 38, and another woman, Rachel Butler, 34, who lives
on Mumphrey Road in Chalmette, were arrested Wednesday evening at the Huy's
West Chalmette Circle residence, where the Sheriff's Office said a meth lab
was being operated.

Melissa Huy and Rachel Butler were booked with operating a meth lab,
possession of meth and child endangerment.

Sheriff's narcotics agents had received information that meth might be being
made at the Huy house and the couple's three young children might be in
danger, the Sheriff's Office said. Authorities found a small amount of meth
inside the house and ingredients for making meth in a shed behind the house.

Three children in the house, all under the age of 7, were examined at
Children's Hospital and later released to family relatives.
Melissa Huy was being held in St. Bernard Prison in lieu of $350,000 bond.
Butler was held in lieu of $175,000 bond. No bond has been set for Dino Huy
Jr.
