St. Bernard Relay for Life kickoff event is Nov. 7, Nemesis meeting is
Nov.11: Community Report

The American Cancer Society's St. Bernard Relay For Life kickoff party will
be held Nov. 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Rocky & Carlo's Restaurant,
Sicilian Room, 613 W. St. Bernard Hwy., in Chalmette. Those planning to
attend should RSVP by Nov. 6 by emailing jdicristina1964 at yahoo.com or
calling 504.219.2275.

Participants are asked to attend the gathering dressed in their favorite
football team attire to earn "spirit points." The 2014 Relay for Life theme
also will be revealed at the kickoff event.

A Planning Committee meeting will be held Nov. 18 at 6 p.m. in the
conference room at Nunez Community College in Chalmette. Residents
interested in helping the Planning Committee should attend this meeting. 

Nemesis meeting

The Knights of Nemesis Social Club and Parade will hold a social meeting
Nov. 11 at 6:30 pm at Zig's Hide Out, 105 Bayou Road, Poydras. 

All members and prospective members are invited to attend. Food will be
provided. The Knights of Nemesis organization was formed in 2004 and has
paraded in the parish for the past eight years. The ninth annual Knights of
Nemesis Parade is scheduled for Feb. 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. For information
