St. Bernard Parish Council to hold the first meeting of 2014 in the historic
Beauregard Courthouse

St. Bernard Parish Council will hold their first meeting of 2014 in the
eastern part of the parish. The council meeting will be held on Tuesday,
January 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Historic Beauregard Courthouse located
at 1201 Bayou Road, St. Bernard, LA.

The 16,800 square feet historic building was originally erected as a
Courthouse in 1916 but was most recently used as part of the Beauregard
Middle School. The three-story masonry historic structure sustained major
damage during Hurricane Katrina, but has since been renovated to bring the
building into compliance with current life safety codes.

A portion of the building is currently being used as a substation of the St.
Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office, the LA Department of Wildlife and
Fisheries, and a branch of the St. Bernard Parish Library. The building is
also rented out for weddings, reunions, parties, etc. To rent the facility
call 504-874-0635.
