Battle of New Orleans Centennial Commission will meet, Relay for Life plans
underway, Lourdes ball set in Chalmette: Community Report

The Battle of New Orleans Centennial Commission will meet Jan. 24 at 1:30
p.m. at the Chalmette Battlefield Visitors Center, 8606 W. St. Bernard Hwy.
in Chalmette.

Relay for Life

The Relay For Life of St. Bernard Committee will hold meetings Jan. 23 to
discuss the 2014 event. The Relay for Life will be held April 12 from 2 p.m.
to midnight at the Hannan campus, 2501 Archbishop Philip M. Hannan Blvd. in
Meraux.

A planning committee meeting will be held Jan. 23 at 6 p.m., followed by a
team captains meeting at 7 p.m. in the music room at Nunez Community College
in Chalmette. People may participate by signing up at the relay website.

Lourdes ball

The Lourdes Ball will be held Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. at the Fred Sigur Civic
Center, 8245 W. Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette. The evenet is free and open
to the public.

Chamber meets

The St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce will hold a luncheon Jan. 22 from 11:30
a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Bernard Port, 100 Port Blvd., second floor, in
Chalmette. Darlene Cusanza, president and CEO of Crimestoppers, will speak
about the roles and responsibilities that the department plays in the
community. The cost is $20 for chamber members and $25 for future members
and guests.
