Arc of Greater New Orleans Mardi Gras Recycle Center





WHO: Raising Cane's and Arc of Greater New Orleans Mardi Gras
Recycle Center



WHAT: Have partnered to collect Mardi Gras beads at several Raising
Cane's Restaurants

Starting today and running through April 3rd, there is something you may
want to bring with you if you are going to Raising Cane's - Mardi Gras
beads. Arc's Mardi Gras Recycle Center will be placing collection bins in
the restaurant so those dining can donate unwanted Mardi Gras beads and
trinkets to Arc's Recycle Center. The Center is a year-round operation that
employs several people with disabilities or developmental delays. These
employees, along with an army of volunteers, sort, band, repackage and sell
beads to carnival riders. This past Mardi Gras, Arc recycled, packaged and
sold over 120,000 pounds of beads.





WHEN: Friday, March 28 - Thursday, April 3 During restaurant hours



WHERE: Raising Cane's at 8113 W. Judge Perez Hwy., Chalmette





Arc of Greater New Orleans is a 60-year-old non-profit organization serving
people with intellectual disabilities, such as Down syndrome and autism. Arc
is committed to securing for all people with intellectual disabilities the
opportunity to develop, function and live to their fullest potential. Arc
serves some 900 children, adults and their families in Jefferson, Orleans
and St. Bernard Parishes by providing various services including Child Care,
Family Service Coordination, Respite, Personal Care, Supported Employment,
Day Habilitation and Supported Living assistance.
