ST. BERNARD FIRE DEPARTMENT TO BEGIN FIRE HYDRANT INSPECTIONS ON TUESDAY,
APRIL 14, 2014

 

The St. Bernard Parish Fire Department shall commence Fire Hydrants
Inspections on Tuesday April 1, 2014. Throughout the parish, individual fire
hydrants will be opened for approximately two minutes to record water
pressure and flow readings.

 

The inspection times will be between 9:00 am and 11:00 am Monday through
Friday, until testing of all hydrants are completed.

 

This is a necessary procedure performed twice a year to ensure that all fire
hydrants in the parish work properly. Residents may experience rusty water
during this testing period. By running water for five minutes the rust
should be flushed and clear up.

 

The Fire department would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may
cause.
