'Tailgating for a Cause' is theme of St. Bernard Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society's 2014 Relay for Life of St. Bernard will be
held April 12 from 2 p.m. to midnight at the Hannan campus, 2501 Archbishop
Hannan Blvd. in Meraux.

The Planning Committee has organized 17 booths with food, prizes, and
raffles, as well as other entertainment for all ages. "Tailgating for a
Cause" is the theme. Participants are asked to attend dressed to support
their favorite sports team.

The survivors ceremony will be at 2:30 p.m., and the survivors lap will be
held at 3 p.m. Sally Ann Roberts, WWL-TV anchorwoman, will speak at 3 p.m.
The Fight Back ceremony will be at 11 p.m.

The Rayo Brothers Band will perform from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. A Saintsations
autograph session will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. The Pick 6 Band will play
from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and 10 to 11 p.m. The luminary ceremony will begin at 9
p.m. A silent auction, sand volleyball, Zumba, hula hoop contest, karate
demonstration, baby bottle contest, karaoke, potato sack race, fire safety
house, and limbo are among many activities being planned.
