Nunez Represents at LCTCS Workforce Experience at the Capitol

On Wednesday, April 30th, 2014, Nunez Community College participated in the
Louisiana Community and Technical College System's (LCTCS) inaugural
Louisiana Workforce Experience event. The LCTCS Workforce Experience was
held in the Rotunda of the State Capitol. All thirteen community and
technical colleges from across the state highlighted cutting-edge programs
that are preparing Louisiana's future workforce.

Visitors to the Capitol Rotunda enjoyed the opportunity to engage with
students and industry partners, and participate in hands-on demonstrations
of more than fifteen programs aligned to the state's immediate workforce
needs.

Nunez showcased its Industrial Technology program, Process Technology (PTEC)
track. Two PTEC students, Lance Rodney and Andrew LaFontaine, along with
Don Hoffman, Nunez's Program Director of Business and Technology, and Dr.
Chris Rholdon, representative for Nunez's industry partner, Phillips 66,
spoke to process technology and its importance for and impact on local
workforce, industries, and economies.

Among the LCTCS programs featured were Petrochemical, Health Occupations,
Culinary Arts, Non-Destructive Testing, Alternative Energy, STEM, Process
Technology, Welding, Advanced Manufacturing, Instrumentation, Robotics,
