Nunez Women in Process Technology Enjoy A Date with Destiny

Students in the Industrial Technology program, Process Technology (PTEC)
track, attended the sixth, annual "A Date with Destiny," a career and
education forum designed for women and sponsored by Shell and Motiva
Enterprises, LLC, on Thursday, May 1, 2014.

Theron Williams Sr., Norco Manufacturing Complex's Learning Manager, said,
"The purpose of this event is to encourage, educate and empower women in our
surrounding parishes to consider careers in the oil and gas industry as an
Operation Technician or Maintenance Craft Professional."

The all-day event featured three sessions: Claudia Jenkins, Human Resource
Account Manager at Norco facilitated session one, which focused on best
practices for job seeking such as resume building, interviewing tips, and
mock interviews. Nunez and four, other, Greater New Orleans community
colleges provided insight into their two-year, PTEC and/Maintenance Crafts
programs during session two.

The event concluded with session three which featured dinner, personal
testimonies from women in the industry, and a panel discussion led by
Chrystal Landgraf, Health Safety Security & Environmental (HSSE)
professional and trailblazer with over seventeen years' experience with
Shell and Motiva.

Nunez students, Ariel Ragas, Tamesha Perry, Brittney Broekman, Britney
Domby, Jeanette Euper, Laquivia Jackson, and Ebony Williams, along with
Industrial Technology instructor, Ray Frey, represented Nunez and showcased
the PTEC program and fractional distillation process used in process
technology.

Nunez Community College currently offers the only PTEC program in the
Greater New Orleans area and places at least seven out of ten PTEC graduates
in jobs with industry partners including Air Products, Domino Sugar,
Entergy, Exxon Mobil, Intralux, Laitram, Motiva Enterprises, Murphy Oil
Corporation, Phillips 66 Conoco 76, Shell, and Valero Meraux Refinery,
