The St. Bernard Parish Library recently celebrated six weeks of summer
reading fun.  This year over 500 children registered to participate in the
Fizz, Boom, Read! annual reading program with more than140 who completed
their activity sheets in time to be entered into the Grand Finale Prize
Drawing.  Sponsors for this year's prize drawing were:  Audubon Institute,
Chalmette Movies, J & M Jewelers, Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi, Local
Flair, Louisiana Children's Museum, McDonalds, MeMe's Bar and Grille,
National World War II Museum, New Orleans Paddlewheels Inc., Pets Plus, and
Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers.   Special guest sponsors attending the
festivities were Ms. Meg Daigle of Raising Cane's who donated an overstuffed
Cane's bundle and Mr. Michael Chutz and Mr. Anthony Cole of the Kiwanis
Club.  All of the library's sponsors generously supported the library's
reading programs with coupons, museum passes and merchandise.
